NEW WORLD ORDERS A STATE-OF-THE-ART LABORATORY TO STRENGTHEN ITS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF OWNER BATTERY TECHNOLOGY; HIRING NEW LEADING SCIENTISTS

“Today’s investment in R&D is the competitive advantage of tomorrow in the market. We continue our confidential and proprietary development efforts to support the world’s leading lithium-ion battery manufacturers and intend to continue investing in cutting-edge technology with the support of top-in-class scientists and engineers. Nouveau Monde’s mission is to design advanced graphite-based solutions to fuel a carbon-free future.

Nouveau Monde is actively developing advanced materials to stay on top of industry trends and offer some of the highest performing and most environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery anode material portfolios on the market. Among the technological advancements to date, the Company’s R&D team has designed advanced graphite-based solutions where the interaction between graphite and silicon is optimized and has filed a patent application for its proprietary purification technology. thermochemical green.

Eric Desaulniers, Founder, President and CEO of Nouveau Monde, added:

Reinforced internal R&D expertise

With over 20 years of experience in battery technology and having contributed to over 220 scientific papers on electrode and electrolyte materials for lithium-ion batteries, which have been cited many times in others publications, Mr. MV Reddy, PhD joins the Company as a Senior Professional Researcher to advance the New World product portfolio.

Reddy received his PhD in Materials Science with highest distinction from the University of Bordeaux, France (2003) and a Masters in Chemistry (Electrochemistry) from the University of Bangalore, India (1995). Over the past two decades, Reddy has studied LiB materials (anodes, cathodes, supercapacitors and solid electrolytes), fuel cells, nanotechnology, recycling and recovery of battery materials, powder metallurgy and materials for CO2 sequestration, other material characterization techniques, spectroscopy, techniques and electroanalytics, as well as additional research activities. He worked as a principal researcher at the research institute of Hydro-Quebec, the Center of excellence in electrification of transport and energy storage (“CETEES”), and at the Department of science and engineering of materials of the National University of Singapore, Advanced Batteries Lab and Department of Physics.

Reddy is the author of a landmark article on electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries and their reaction mechanisms, received international accolades, served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Scientific Publications, gave lectures at numerous international conferences and workshops, acted as expert referee for various international academics. battery proposals and collaborated across the energy storage industry.

To complete the Nouveau Monde R&D team, Mr. Neel Rahem also joins the Company as Laboratory Manager. A chemist specializing in metallurgy, process chemistry and quality programs, Rahem holds an M.Sc. in chemistry from UQAM (2010) and an M1 master’s degree in chemistry-physics from University of Haute-Alsace (2007). Prior to working at Nouveau Monde, Rahem was in charge of laboratory activities for Canadian Royalties, Quebec Iron Ore, and Glencore.

In his new role, Rahem will operationalize the Company’s new laboratory facilities and oversee the existing team of inorganic and analytical chemistry technicians.

Eric Desaulniers, Founder, President and CEO of Nouveau Monde, concluded:

Nouveau Monde has incorporated innovation into its business approach through human capital investments, infrastructure and collaboration with world-class research institutes and universities to refine the production of anode materials and develop new applications. Research partners include the Technology transfer center in industrial ecology, the National Center for Electrochemistry and Environmental Technologies, the CETEES, the Industrial waste technology center, the National Research Council of Canada, the INRS-Energy, Materials and Telecommunications, McGill University, University of Sherbrooke, Laval University, Hydrogen Research Institute, University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and Innofibre.
