About you

If you have a background in science and research, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. NPL is looking for talented Scientists / Engineers to join our dynamic team which establishes and develops the UK Compact Atomic Clock industry. This full time position is based in Teddington.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of our collaborative and highly skilled group of Atomic Clocks and Sensors (ACS) seeking to train and develop truly passionate scientists and engineers. As a member of this team, you will contribute to the development of state-of-the-art atomic clock systems and subsystem prototypes at the NPL, suitable for production and commercialization.

The requirements of this laboratory role include:

● Very ambitious and keen to learn more about compact atomic clock systems

● Good understanding of one or more of the following elements: electronic design, laser physics, atomic physics, embedded software programming, systems engineering.

● A demonstrative drive to expand capabilities, services and products through an instinctive business awareness

● Effective written and verbal communication skills

To be successful in this role, it is also desirable that you hold a doctorate in engineering / physics or a related field. In addition, experience in the atomic clock industry and / or knowledge of different types of commercial atomic clocks and their applications is also advantageous.
